About the Painting: Very good condition.
About the Artist: Painter of landscapes, architectural subjects,
portraits and still life. Born at Leamington
Spa and studied art in the town under John
Burgess. He went to France, studied at the
Académie Juilian in Paris for three
years, and painted at Barbizon. Exhibited
at the principal London galleries from 1870,
mainly at Suffolk Street and the R.A. Worked
extensively in Dorset and Warwickshire. Lived
at Leamington for some years, and later in
London. Died no 12th February 1939.
