About the Woodcut:Very good condition; unframed.
About the Artist: Painter and etcher of figure subjects and
landscapes; calligrapher and book designer.
Studied at the Camberwell and Central Schools
of Art. Exhibited at the R.A. and other leading
galleries. Represented in several public
collections at home and abroad. Master of
the Art Workers' Guild 1941. Principal works
include The Dance of Death 1914-18 (seven etchings), Twelve Drypoints of the War 1914-18, Wuthering Heights 1923 (five drypoints), 18 Drypoints and Etchings of the War 1931, 21 Drawings and Etchings of Palestine 1934, The Singing Beggar and The Dying Tramp. Published Quality in Life, an artist's philosophy in 1919, and several
book on lettering. Worked in the U.S.A. 1927
and in Palestine 1932. Lived in London fo
rmany years and died on 30th October 1948.
