About the Painting: Excellent. The frame is believed to be original
to the painting, c. 1935, and bears an Aitken
Dott label.
About the Artist: Little is known of the artist, but his work
appears with some consistency in the British
art market. We speculate that he was an aspiring
artist who may have not survived WWII, since
we have several high quality works by the
artist in our personal collection and have
seen others of equal accomplishment - all
executed prior to 1939. He is known to have painted seascapes, landscapes
and allegorical subjects in watercolor and
gray wash.
