About the Artist: Nothing known. The artist could be Maurice
Leonard (French, 1899 - 197?) who used a
similar strong palette and included architectural
paintings among a broad range of subjects.
In fact, having owned an example of Leonard's
work, this painting was purchased in the
belief that for whatever reason Leonard painted
it and abbreviated his signature - something
we've not established for a fact..
