more
definitive details of the artist's
life.

in Maryland references the name
Howard L.

but it's unclear
if that was the artist's obituary
or if he
was listed as a survivor of the
deceased.
A Howard L. Hastings was interred
in the
Golden Gate National Cemetery
and the dates
of birth and death are November
11, 1892
and July 30, 1961, respectively.
