  • "Shaftesbury from the East," etching, signed l/r, inscribed l/l, 14" x 18.5" plate, 11" x 14" sheed, 17 1/8" x 21" frame.

Condition: Excellent.

Biography: Painter in oil and water-colour of landscapes and architectural subjects. Born at Bury St. Edmunds on 24th December 1883. He was for 12 years a booking clerk on the Great Eastern Railway asnd then devoted himself to art, studying at the Slade School under Brown, Tonks, Russell 1913. Exhibited at the R.A., N.E.A.C., and in the provinces. Represented in several public collections at home and abroad. Principal works include The Fallen Poplar, The Palace of the Popes at Avignon, Old Houses on the Arno and Ludlow.
